Summer Style
Pride Edition
Summer style is often thought of as effortless and cool. That’s exactly what I intended with this new summer outfit. Summer in Houston can be sweltering, but what people don’t realize is that air conditioning is blowing everywhere you go! So from the second you leave your cool house, to your car with the AC blasting, to any establishment you’re destined for, it can ironically be kinda chilly.
Close Knit
After the gorgeous lilac color caught my attention, the open weave of this lightweight knit sweater became super appealing for these Houston summers. The thickness of the knit paired with its long-sleeves, keep me comfortable in the powerful AC. While the open weave design still lets a breeze through and the heat out between destinations.

To sum up outfit details, I paired this new sweater staple over one of my go-to ribbed tank tops and my favorite denim shorts.
My sneakers are the fun pop. These Superga sneakers are one of my favorite “style stretch” buys. To me, a style stretch is anytime you try something different and outside your staple comfort zone. It doesn’t have to be drastic. I took a chance on a pair of $85 sneakers because I am almost NEVER not in heels. Sneakers would be my other go to, but all my sneakers are all white or nude! So these fun Italian sneakers with a pastel rainbow platform sole were a definite stretch. A stretch that now, I’m so glad I made! They run true to size, if not a little big.
This colorful outfit representing chill summer style, photographed in front of a local EaDo graffiti wall, is perfect to post in June for Pride. I am proud to celebrate my friends of the LGBT community and stand with them as an ally. So many of my closest friends are members of this community and I honestly can’t imagine my life without them being exactly who they are. Love is love. So please join me in celebrating Pride all June long, because a world without the rainbow is just boring black and white. 🏳️🌈
