Tulum šŸŒ“ Where To Stay

Tulum

I would LOVE to be in Tulum, Mexico now.
On its white sandy beaches with the clear waters, sipping a Tequila Sunrise and sunbathing next to Mario.

Travel Guide Trio

But until we can safely get back for another round of adventures, Iā€™d like to start by recapping our first one!

Tulum is amazing and there is so much to share so Iā€™m going to break my Tulum Travel review down into 3 easy to digest posts.

– Where To Stay –

Tulum offers a range of different experiences when it comes to places to stay.
If you want a more ā€œone with natureā€ true immersion into the wild, I recommend staying at Azulik.
Here you wonā€™t find AC or a mini fridge or even a shower en-suite. But you will stay in a breathtaking ā€œtreehouseā€ on a resort that will feel like youā€™re on a remote upscale island. They offer a la carte day trips for snorkeling with private sailors and packed champagne lunches making you feel like a celebrity in nature in no time! But the no AC and open-air suites, make this one HOT place to stay this close to the equator.

If a semi-immersive stay is your vibe.. Where you stay in a luxury tent with AC and a mini fridge that has an en-suite bathroom – but youā€™ll shower outside under the stars and be a little closer to the hip bars; then Habitas is your oasis. This hotel blends the flair of a vintage decor vibe, worthy of any hipster with the amenities any yogi would love.
A best friend of mine and her boyfriend stayed here when we traveled to Tulum together and they loved it. Their only real complaints were that the seaweed (running rampant in Tulum right now, of NO ONEā€™s fault) kept them from the waters and they didnā€™t have any on site ā€œwater activitiesā€ like boats, kayaks, paddle boards etc.

Another fabulous friend of mine and his wife stayed at Mi Amor one year and they loved the more VIP service with inclusive features like a resort in Cancun.

Margoā€™s
Must Stay

Tulum, like Iā€™ve shared, has a place to stay for everyone of any interest.
When Mario and I decided to travel Tulum, we had a short list of must haves – but they were non-negotiable to us.

JashitaĀ Tulum
hit everything on our list!

Private Resort

This hotel was a dream for us. I will say – it was about 15 minutes away from all the main restaurants and bars.. but thatā€™s what we wanted. We wanted a romantic, peaceful, remote getaway – not wanting the noise of pool parties and late night bars youā€™d hear closer to town.

secluded views encompass both the untouched jungles and the ocean

Beat The Heat

Second to our peace and quiet requirement was our NEED for a room with AC. When I tell you Tulum is hot – you wonā€™t understand until youā€™re there. Itā€™s so close to the equator, and has the warm, damp heat from the surrounding jungle mixing with the warm, wet air from the sea.
Our room stayed a cool 68 degrees making it feel just like home when it was time to wind down and get some sleep.
Additionally, other areas of the complex offered either air conditioning or quiet, yet powerful fans and there was always a breeze from the beach.

Unobstructed Views

Third on our list was to have a hotel that offered the most amenities without having to leave. Including unobstructed access to the ocean from the seaweed.
Jashita is far enough away from the other hotels, meaning the distance prevents the seaweed barrier from taking over Jashitaā€™s private beaches.

Dining To Die For

In addition, their on-site restaurant is fabulous providing dine-in options, room service and beach offerings as well.
Mario and I were so appreciative of their ā€œwelcomeā€ wine and fresh ceviche that was waiting in our room right when we checked in! And the breakfasts canā€™t be beat – offering classic Mexican favorites as well as the freshest fruits Iā€™ve ever enjoyed.

Adventure Awaits

Jashita offers excursion packages you can purchase, just like Azulik. But we loved that they provided the sweetest shack on the beach offering complimentary kayak, paddle board, and boat rentals. My girlfriends and I enjoyed racing the boys on kayaks (of course we won šŸ˜) and for more peaceful meditation and time to soak in the views we loved the paddle boards.

Chill Out

Additionally, Jashita offers yoga classes on the beach and has a full resort spa on-site, the Caoba Spa.

A few other perks Jashita offers in Tulum you canā€™t find just anywhere else..
– 3 separate pools
1. for children (though we never saw any)
2. A rooftop infinity pool (Adults only) pampering you with complimentary happy hour sangria, a private bathroom and wet bar
3. A beachside (Adults only) pool with private cabanas
we also had a mini spa pool on our private balcony as well!

Safety First

AND
with safety being a top concern as well, we truly appreciate that
Jashita provides private transportation to and from the airport.

As well as a guarded entrance, private drive and on-site security.
We absolutely LOVED the private driver to and from the airport because it really made the hour drive so relaxing. Not only the privacy, but the amenities like the warm wet hand towels, crisp water and refreshing mixed drinks.

straight off the plane – on our way to Jashita

Additionally, we appreciated just as much, the daily private transportation to anywhere at anytime in town.
They use WhatsApp and itā€™s super easy. You just text the number and a driver promptly responds. They took us everywhere from the touristy bars, to local watering holes, to the ruins and cenotes and back safely again!
That feeling of safety was honestly invaluable. And it provided such peace of mind to all of us – and my loving parents back home as well.

Noteworthy

Obviously, I canā€™t say enough great things about our stay in Tulum.
I will admit it was a hilarious transition of our ensembles though, as the days went on during our week long stay! The first night all 3 of us girls were dolled up with full face make-up and curled hair, worn down.
However, we quickly learned this is not the place for that and by the second night out, it was buns all around (I would have taken my extensions out if I could have šŸ¤£) and some waterproof mascara with concealer.

Eventually, you just become one with the vibes of Tulum. And understand itā€™s not a place to focus on your outer beauty, but the beauty of the world around you.
We all had an absolute blast and honestly canā€™t wait to go back again.
Weā€™ve toyed with the idea of trying out a new place to stay – but after writing this Iā€™ve reminded myself just why we chose, and fell in love with Jashita in the first place. ā™„ļø
