Austin Eats

Food

So you find yourself in Austin just for the day, where do you eat?!
I have the quick run down from this weekend’s blitz trip on food sure to satisfy.

Breakfast

Better Half Coffee and Cocktails is seriously amazing. The drinks are strong, whether you order coffee or a breakfast cocktail, you’re going to get your fix!
When it comes to food, don’t let the pictures intimidate you. The plate presentation is fabulous, but the taste is even better. I always order the “Better Half Breakfast Sandwich”. It’s an English muffin topped with crispy hash browns, aioli, arugula and a fried egg.
Add crispy bacon with a side of fries and thank me later!

Lunch

Lucy’s Fried Chicken is a must when you’re in Austin. This local favorite always hits the spot. We order to eat family style when we’re at Lucy’s, so this is my shareable list below. Definitely get the cornbread with tequila butter and if you like fried pickles – they fry the whole spear here! Bucket O’Chicken serves 4 with the best assortment of breasts and drums in the house. Grilled corn on the cob, black eyed peas and their Mac N Cheese round out this good southern lunch.

Dinner

Swift’s Attic is always our go to for a foodie, romantic dinner over some great cocktails. Unfortunately, they are still renovating from a devastating fire. (Sending you guys lots of love!) So this trip, we opted for pizza. No one makes better pizza in Austin than Home Slice. Definitely order a beer from the local brewery, Austin Eastciders, and grab your pizza by the slice. If you’re in a real carb mood – order some of their delicious garlic knots while you’re at it.

Grab one of their giant Rice Krispie treats or cookies for the road, and there you have it!
A quick day trip to Austin with all the food you can eat.

Bon Appetite my friends!
