Remember Travel?
Ugh – what I wouldnât give to hop on a plane and just travel again!
Until the world gets back to normal, I decided now is the perfect time to reminisce on past adventures that I promised to recap.
Viva
Las Vegas!
Starting from the top with my amazing adventure back to Las Vegas.
Iâve been to Vegas numerous times but my trip last October added a few new favorites stops!
NoMad
First, I love the name of Park MGMâs latest hotel. The definition of ânomadâ itself tied to a hotel in the middle of the desert, pretty poetic.
However, itâs the glamour inside that really steals the show.
Walking into your room at NoMad immediately wonât feel like your average travel stop. The rooms have plush beds with custom Bellino linens. Gem tone textiles exude opulence. The writing desks are made of mahogany. Velvet furniture adds a rich, luxe touch. The mix of original artwork featuring unique prints with vintage nods create a truly custom feel.
I personally HATE carpet. But, I especially hate carpet in hotels. Having oak hardwood floors that cover the entire living space and bedroom, immediately made this stay 5-stars for me. White Carrara marble mosaic tiles adorn the bathroom floor and walk-in shower; while Jonathan Adler accents decorate the vanity.
Every hotel room anywhere has a mini bar – but the one at NoMad takes the cake. It looks like a vintage Louis Vuitton trunk that even has built-in drawers. The mini fridge is built in and looks like a wooden chest while the top is propped up to showcase crystal glassware.
I can’t believe I found a similar design here!
Travel Day
Night Cap
This initiated Texan loves a good margarita, especially one made with the depth of Mezcal. So what better place to stop for a night cap or light bite than, Mama Rabbit – Mezcal Tequila Bar?! Added bonus – itâs a part of Park MGM which means no need for walking the strip or Uber! Just head downstairs and make your way through the high roller casino.
Once you arrive order one of their Mezcal flights – or if smokey isnât your thing, opt for the traditional tequila flight instead. Nibble on the Salsa Trio or Mamaâs Guacamole then split the Queso Fundido and Dos Tacos.
Perfect first night toast and treat!
Hungry for
More?
My travel to Las Vegas this time was to really immerse myself in my new role, and really embrace how much a rich history can guide a bright future.
That means trying new things – and since I never do anything halfway – that meant trying new food as well!
Typically when I go to Vegas and crave a steak, I make a special trip over to Old Vegas and dine like a true Vegas celebrity at the Golden Steer Steakhouse.
This place is the real deal, since 1958. For example there are plaques on rich leather booths reserved to this day for frequent flyers from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. to Elvis Presley.
The quality of EVERYTHING on their menu is impeccable and the level of service provides and experience above all.
Since this trip was different – I missed the Golden Steer this year, but I will definitely be back on my next tour of the town!
Jean Georges Steakhouse was my A-list pick for my filet fix this trip. Their menu drew me in with premium cuts of meat and an assortment of truffle rich sides.
My steakhouse drink of choice, a Dirty Gin Martini, was mixed to perfection. My filet was prepared just how I like it, but the real showstopper – the sides.
Black Truffle Mac N Cheese
Garlic Trumpet Mushrooms
Truffle Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes
YUM!
Overall
Jean Georges is a wonderful experience, even in spite of my favoritism towards the Golden Steer.
Jean Georges doesnât have all the charm and rich history or old world glamour that the Golden Steer Steakhouse does. But, it sure was rich in flavor and the location canât be beat!
Next Up
CATCH first made waves in LA and New York for being a celebrity favorite for upscale, new takes on Asian fusion seafood, sushi and steaks.
The Hellfire Roll, Crispy Shrimp and Filet Skewers were full of flavor, perfect portions to share, and honestly so good, I would order the exact same again!
On top of having great cuisine, the ambiance and the service canât be beat. For example, I sat at the bar, and usually that means your level of service will be subpar. But I have to give my bartender Joe a HUGE shoutout. First, Joe guided me with some fire food recommendations, then surprised me with a free shot, and he topped off my meal with some complimentary cookies. More important than free things, was Joeâs ability to balance great conversation with knowing when to leave and let me just enjoy. That balance is HARD yâall! Because of Joeâs service, I will definitely be back on my next trip!
To sum up, CATCH is truly a memorable night out, made complete with drool worthy cuisine and the perfect location. CATCH is now a permanent addition to my Vegas list!

Be A Lady
Its true what they say – it pays to know people! And that was especially true when I was invited to a champagne toast on a private balcony at the Bellagio to watch their world famous fountainâs Water Show.
THIS was truly magical!
Iâve seen it tons before from the strip. But itâs a totally different experience seeing it from a secluded balcony, behind the water where youâre so close you feel the refreshing mist. It was fantastic! And of course getting to take it all in with a glass of MoĂ«t doesnât hurt đ
All in All
This was by far my most meaningful and memorable trip to Las Vegas.
Admit it – after reading this youâre ready to pack a bag and meet me there!
